Gov2u, helping parliaments become efficient and transparent
Gov2u is a non-governmental organization founded in 2005 with the aim of assisting parliaments become efficient and transparent institutions.
To achieve this ambitious goal, Gov2u has created an open source, customizable, informative and collaborative e-participation platform, named Gov2DemOSS.
The aim of this platform is to provide an efficient and transparent channel for institutions to keep their communities informed, manage their information repositories, gauge public opinion, interact directly with their communities and to involve them in the decision making process.
Gov2DemOSS has been already implemented in places such as UpperKirby Houston, in 31 municipalities in Spain and in the city of Amposta. Soon, it will also be available in Karditsa, a municipality in Greece.
Among other interesting highlights, Gov2U was recently short-listed by the World eGov ForumÂ and PoliticsOnline as one of the “Top 20 Who Are Changing the World of Internet and Politics”. It was also awarderd the EU eGov Good Practice Label for the Gov2DemOSS platform. The Good Practice labeling is an initiative of the European Commission, DG Information Society and Media.
